What is Myofunctional Therapy?

Highly effective neuromuscular re-education program of exercises that train the muscles around the face, mouth and tongue to improve oral posture, talking, eating, breathing, sleeping and swallowing.

Therapy tailored to your needs

Tongue Tie & Oral Function

Tongue tie affects far more than feeding. We work with patients pre and post operatively and those with restricted tongue movement to rebuild proper tongue posture, swallowing patterns, and oral

coordination.

  • Pre and post-frenectomy/frenuloplasty rehabilitation
  • Tongue posture retraining
  • Swallowing pattern correction
  • Lip and cheek muscle balance

Breathing & Sleep

Mouth breathing is more than a habit — it changes the structure of your oral cavity and airway over time. We help patients transition to nasal breathing, reduce sleep-disordered breathing, and wake up well rested.

  • Mouth breathing correction
  • Nasal breathing habit training
  • Sleep-disordered breathing support

Children's Therapy

Early intervention makes a lasting difference. We work with children to establish healthy oral habits before they become structural problems — supporting speech development, orthodontic outcomes, and restful sleep.

  • Early intervention programs
  • Speech and articulation support
  • Orthodontic preparation & relapse prevention
  • Tongue tie pre and post-op rehab for kids

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hello@myofacetherapy.com if you have any additional questions

We offer in person appointments at our Irvine office and virtual appointments. Comprehensive evaluations are usually done in person and reoccurring myo appointments ae offered in person and virtually. We do recommend in person appointments for children under 6 as it's easier for them to focus.

The total cost of therapy varies on the patients individualized treatment plan. We begin with a comprehensive exam to evaluate a patients individualized plan. The exam cost is $325. Upon delivery of treatment plan, you will receive a quote for your therapy package based on an estimate of how many sessions will be required.

Therapy is typically done every 2 weeks for 6 to 9 months at $150 a session.

We currently do not accept insurance.  At Myo Face Therapy, we believe that cost should never be a deterrent to someone receiving treatment. We will do everything in our power to find a plan that works for your budget. Dental insurance does not usually cover costs associated with myofunctional therapy, however, we do see minimal coverage through medical insurance. We do accept funds from HSA and FSA accounts and we are happy to supply you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible direct reimbursement if you have coverage.

We work with children as young as 3 years old for foundational habits through our mini myo program. Early intervention is often the most effective way to promote good oral posture and habits.

No referral is required to book a consultation. That said, we work closely with dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, and sleep specialists, and we're happy to coordinate care with your existing providers.
