Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy is similar to physical therapy, but for your face, mouth, and tongue. It is designed to achieve the four goals and restore proper breathing and oral function through a series of specific exercises focused on the muscles of the mouth, tongue, head and neck.

Nasal breathing all day and night

Lips sealed all day and night

Tongue on the roof of your mouth all day and night

Correct chewing and swallowing
The first visit will be a 90 minute comprehensive evaluation. It will include an evaluation and examination of the muscles of your face, neck, mouth, and tongue. We will discuss your pain points and explore underlying issues that are contributing to them. During this visit we will take photographs and a video of you swallowing. We will then discuss your dysfunctions, compensations, and conditions and explain how myofunctional therapy can address them. This evaluation is $325 and will be collected at the time of service.
Therapy sessions are typically every 1-2 weeks and are 30 minutes. They can be done virtually or in person. For optimal results, you will be expected to perform exercises for 6-8 minutes, twice daily. Therapy is generally 6-9 months with the expectation of the mini myo program.
Costs: During your follow up call after your comprehensive evaluation, you will receive an estimate of how many sessions will be required and cost per session. At Myo Face Therapy, we believe that cost should never be a deterrent to someone receiving treatment. We will do everything in our power to find a planned approach that works for your budget. Dental insurance does not usually cover costs associated with myofunctional therapy, however, we do see minimal coverage through medical insurance. We do accept funds from HSA and FSA accounts and we are happy to supply you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible direct reimbursement if you have coverage.
*The cost of the consultation is not included in the cost of therapy.
